Food dreams, feasts and wild treats

BB's

BB's Kitchen

BB loves to play with plants and food, taking your palate on surprising and magical journeys. Her deep connection to food and land is inspired by ancient tradition, wild food and cuisines and practices from around the world. She builds plates and feasts layered with full, rich, zangy and fresh flavours and sensual textures.

Years running an award winning retreat kitchen in rural Crete and cooking in Mexican kitchens are her among her biggest outside influences, as well as intuitive connection to food from the area she grew up. Always working with ingredients from the land around her, she loves simple honest rich flavours where possible and exciting experimental food where needed.

Everything you need to Know about BB's

Sourcing

Respecting and connecting to plants where food comes from is at the heart of BB's kitchen. Whether she has grown or gathered it herself or sourced it from local markets and growers, she celebrates what’s found, what's available and in season.

Process

BB's flavors come from the landscapes around her. Honoring the land and ancient practices, she uses wild plants and plays with traditional preservation methods such as sun pickling, fermentation, sun drying, and brewing. She explores the relationship between food and Queerness, food and liberation and food and anti-fascism. Deeply connected to plant magic and the healing properties of food, magic and rituals in the kitchen are part of her practice. Experimentation with cooking methods is central to her food.

Experiences

BB aims to bring pleasure and excitement to eating, paying attention to sensory explosions and building connections through shared food. She sees cooking as both alchemy, art and magic. Through curated feasting experiences, she creates spaces where interaction with food, the environment, and each other are integral parts of the event. She invites us to challenge and dismantle the way we view, understand, and experience food.
